Greater Toronto Area residents are closer to claiming their lottery prize

A group of 36 residents in Greater Toronto Area is one step closer to finally getting their Lotto 6/49 bonus prize worth $1.5 million from the October 15, 2011 draw.

In October 2011, Lotto 6/49 offered lottery players additional bonus prizes of an annuity worth $100,000 for life, or a one-time cash prize of $1.5 million. However, group wins fall under the one-time cash prize.

One member of the group is related to an employee at an OLG retail location. This made the prize falls within the so-called Insider Win of OLG.

The winning ticket was bought at Gateway Newstand on Bay Street in Toronto.

Mus¬koka produces another lottery winner

Mus­koka is apparently on a lucky streak as it has produced another lottery winner!

A Muskoka Lakes resident won a big prize in the Daily Keno lottery last week. This week a Vankoughnet woman has won $100,000.

Sandra Conway, age 44 and a homemaker, discovered that she won the ENCORE prize just hours after purchasing her winning ticket last January 4 at the Mac’s convenience store on Taylor Road.

“I actually checked the numbers myself, and then I got my sister to check it on the Internet, and she said ‘oh my God, you’ve just won $100,000!’” Sandra said.

“I phoned my husband at work and I asked him ‘can you come home?’ He thought something was wrong because I’d been crying,” she added.

Sandra has been a sporadic 6/49 player for about 20 years. This was her first lottery win. What made her win was the extra dollar she chipped in to play the ENCORE.

In so far as the windfall, she plans to share it with her family and to pay off some bills. She will also spend some of it on the college education of her daughter.

OLG also announced last week that Timothy Bryant of Port Carling had won a total amount of $50,000.

Mississauga lottery player wins big in Lotto 6/49

Suganthini Neethirasa, a lottery player from Mississauga, won $72,674 in the January 4 Lotto 6/49 draw. She purchased the lucky winning ticket at Rabba Fine Foods on Hurontario St.

Neethirasa is a 39-year-old woman. She was very happy when she claimed her lottery prize at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation Prize Centre in Toronto.

She said she has been playing the lottery for a year. She told that she has not decided yet on what to do with her money.

Lottery player from Brantford wins $223,547 on Lotto Max

Bonnie Magee, a resident of Brantford, won a sum of $223,547 in the December 20, 2011 Lotto Max draw.

"It still hasn't clicked that I won!" narrated Bonnie while at the OLG Prize Centre to get her prize.

"I'll believe it when I actually see my cheque" she said with a smirk.

Bonnie was putting away her decorations for Christmas last Saturday when she made up her mind to check the Lotto Max winning numbers online. It was then that she discovered that she won that big amount.

This 62-year-old woman loves to play INSTANT scratch tickets, but she purchases Lotto Max tickets sometimes. This has been the biggest win for her to date.

Bonnie said that she is not sure yet as to what she would do with her windfall. She purchased the winning ticket at Metro on St. Paul Avenue in Brantford.

Lottery player from Orleans wins $128,232 playing Lotto 6/49

Kelly Jang, a resident of Orleans, is very happy after winning $128,232 in the December 17, 2011 LOTTO 6/49 draw.

Kelly said she was shocked with her winning the lottery when she claimed her prize at OLG Prize Centre.

The winner is a 32-year old restaurant owner. She said she plays the lottery occasionally and she selects numbers randomly.

It was her brother who checked the winning numbers in the daily on Sunday morning, and believed that the numbers looked similar to the numbers on Kelly’s ticket.

“I’m not that lucky, so I didn’t take him seriously” Kelly said laughingly.

When she asked about her plan for her windfall, she said that she has not decided about what to do with it yet. She said that she might take a vacation and purchase a big gift for herself.

She purchased the winning ticket at International News on Place D’Orleans Drive in Orleans.

Mississauga lottery player wins $280,101 in the November 2, 2011 LOTTO 6/49 draw

Dejan Ciprovski, a resident of Mississauga, is on ‘cloud 6/49’ after discovering he won a staggering amount of $280,101 in the November 2, 2011 LOTTO 6/49 draw.

“This is awesome. I’m still in shock!” he said while at the OLG Prize Centre to get his prize.

The lottery winner held onto his winning ticket for a month after not knowing he won a major prize.

“I went to the retailer to check my tickets and buy PROLINE. I checked the ticket on the self-checker and I wasn’t sure if I read it right so I went to cashier to have it validated” told Dejan.

Dejan is a 37-year-old newlywed and father-to-be. He was very happy with his win. He plans to pay off some bills with his winning. He also plans to make some investments, and save some for his baby.

He purchased the lucky winning ticket at Rabba Fine Foods on Hurontario Street in Mississauga.
