Lanaudière, Quebec resident wins $7,173,066 jackpot prize in Lotto 6/49

Yvon Plourde was extremely happy when he won the $7,173,066 jackpot in the July 27th Lotto 6/49 draw. This resident of Lanaudière region was calm when he walked into the Loto-Québec’s offices to claim the prize.

He was all smiles and remarked: “It’s just like winning $2!”

Although he has already won in the lottery, he said that he would still continue purchasing tickets, which has been a habit of this retired gentleman for several years.

He regularly plays terminal-based lotteries. As for his windfall, he plans to purchase a new car and build a new house.

The Lucky Quick Pick was bought at a local grocery store. The retailer will get a 1% commission of the prize or $71,730.
