Hamilton students wins $3.5 million jackpot in Lotto 6/49

Kricket Slik, a Hamilton, Ontario resident, could not believe at first that she had been a multi-millionaire overnight. She started an ordinary Sunday, just relaxing and running errands. At the end of the day, she discovered that won the $3.5 million jackpot in Lotto 6/49. She bought the winning lottery ticket on whim, it turned out that it was the lucky ticket for the August 27th Lotto 6/49 jackpot draw.

Slik said: “I don’t play very often, so buying this ticket was sort of random. I happened to be at a convenience store with a friend, and decided to buy one. If my friend hadn’t been visiting me and needed to go to the store, I wouldn’t have bought a ticket.”

Slik went to the Shoppers Drug Mart to very her ticket and could not believe what she saw. She said that she checker her ticket on the self scanner for several times and then proceeded to her boyfriend’s house to check on the internet and confirm that she had all of six numbers. That was the point when reality hit her that she had just won the $3.5 million jackpot.

“My first reaction, when I realized that I had won, was that this is going to help my family out so much. I’m also going to continue my studies, and afterwards, the dream of opening my own salon can actually become a reality. I also plan on doing some travelling in the next year or so.”

Slik is the oldest of six brothers and sister. She purchased her ticket at JJ’s Variety on John Street in Hamilton. If you want to see the latest Lotto 649 results, visit Lotterycanada.com today!
